How to lock event dates to ensure they cannot be accidentally moved

If you have an event with a fixed or known date, you can lock the event dates to ensure that it won't be moved accidentally. Once locked, the event will not be adjusted by automatic means (e.g. constraints, dependencies, or moving parents), and you will not be able to edit the event dates or drag it to a different position on the timeline unless you first unlock the event.

To lock an event's dates:

1. Select the event
2. Open the Inspector, and click on the  Dates tab ( )
3. Confirm the dates are correct, and then click on the Lock icon in the top-right corner of the Dates section, as shown in the image below:

This will lock the items into place and and prevent them from moving as you change other data and drag items between views, change other data and around your timeline.
