How To Handle Uncertainty in Dates

When creating your timeline, you may be working with dates that are uncertain or not yet known. Aeon Timeline allows you to customise dates to reflect uncertainty with the following steps:

1. First, you need to select the item which has an uncertain date and open the inspector. Ensure you have the dates tab open by clicking this icon : 
2. If the Start date is uncertain click  next to the box where you write the start date. 
3. You will then be given the option to implement and 'Earliest Start' and 'Latest Start'. 

Here, implement the earliest possible start date and the latest possible start date that could apply to this item.

    4. When viewing this item in your timeline, you will see the range of this uncertain date represented as a line that fades to full resolution, and appears as full resolution once they reach the latest start date. 

This process works similarly for uncertain end dates, although instead of fading in, the range of the uncertain date will fade out from the earliest end date to the latest end date.
