How to measure the distance between two events on the timeline

There are two ways to measure the distance between two events on the timeline.

Method One:

  1. If you're working on a Mac, press opt + shift and then drag a line from one event to another. If you're working with Windows, press Alt + Shift instead of opt + shift.

Method Two:

First, create a relationship between the two items in question.

To do this:

  1. Select one of the events and open the Inspector
  2. Go to the relationships tab:
  3. Create a relationship with the other event. You can see in the example below, a relationship has been created between 'One of the male passengers rings the conductors bell from Mr. Ratchett's apartment and answers in French' and 'Train runs into snowdrift'

Once this is done, you can then see that it says '3 minutes before start', this is the distance between the two events in your timeline.
