Switching View Types
How to change view types
Desktop
- If you have more than one split view open, click on the view you want to change to make sure it has focus (the focused view will be highlighted with a brighter header color)
- In the toolbar, click on the view name you wish to select
Note: If your window is small, the toolbar may show icons only. Hover over the icons to see the name of each view.
Tablet
- If you have more than one split view open, tap on the view you want to change to make sure it has focus (the focused view will be highlighted with a brighter header color)
- In the toolbar, tap on the view selector, and then tap the name of the view you want to see in the menu
Mobile
Portrait orientation:
- Click on the Clock icon () in the bottom toolbar to view a Chronological list of items
- Click on the Book icon () in the bottom toolbar to view items listed in Narrative order
Landscape orientation:
- Click on the Clock icon () in the toolbar to open Timeline View
- Click on the Book icon () in the toolbar to open Narrative View
How to open two different views
Desktop
- Split your workspace into two different views by clicking on the split icon () in the workspace header
- Click into the top view to give it focus
- In the toolbar, click on the view name you want to open
- Click on the second view to give it focus
- In the toolbar, click on the view name you want to open
Tip: You can hold down the Alt/Option key to split the view horizontally instead
Tablet
- Tap on the split icon in the toolbar ( or )
- Tap on your preferred split layout in the menu
- Tap on the top view to give it focus
- In the toolbar, tap on the view selector, and then tap the name of the view you want to see in the menu
- Click on the second view to give it focus
- In the toolbar, tap on the view selector, and then tap the name of the view you want to see in the menu
